Freefreight is the 'hidden' track at the end of Rooster Blues on Cheap (the two tracks appearing separately on its earlier incarnation - 'Sick of Slick'.

Rooster Blues is a 'lost' track that didn't appear on 'Sick of Slick', or the current version of 'Cheap' - but was on an earlier version of 'Cheap'.

Ha, confusing! I think that's about the size of it... but I'm sure Mister Skunk Sir will join in and correct me if I'm wrong!

cheers, davey.

Yup! Several of the tracks that were on Sick of Slick (which was only really a promotional album used for gig getting) made it onto the current version of Cheap. Rooster Blues was one of 'em.

If I remember correctly I think "walking with the devil" was gonna be on "Sick..." but didn't make it, and it also didn't make it onto "Cheap" but Mr Skunk put it on the last version of SSS.com for a short time as a free download, maybe he may do it again if we all ask nicely!!!

And "Them Roses" and "On the inside" too...

Over to Skunk!

"Walkin' With The Devil" was only on the original, independently released version of "Cheap". This was after the "Sick of Slick" demo, but before Doghouse, and before Bronzerat were involved. This version was never sold in shops that I'm aware of, and was only available for a very short time, at a few live shows and online from the website of the more-or-less fictional record company, "There's A Dead Skunk Records". So if any of you have a "Cheap" CD released on "There's A Dead Skunk Records" then that truly is a rare beast indeed.

I *think* that the song was left off any re-releases (ie, when Bronzerat decided to release "Cheap" in the UK) mainly because Steve had a falling out with the guy who played harmonica on the track and Steve didn't want to have to put his name on the credits. :)

I've uploaded Walkin With The Devil here now, along with Livin On The Outside and Them Roses (which includes the secret track I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry, as on the special version this was the last track, not Seasick Boogie)

Grab 'em while you can. ;)

Ah yes - you're right - I said I was confused! When I said that "Rooster Blues is the 'lost' track..." I meant "Walkin with the Devil is the 'lost' track..."! Sorry to spread my confusion further!

Now all we need is 'Confused Blues' and I'll completely lose it! teehee!

cheers, davey.

Okay, on a Mac you just hold down ctrl whilst clicking on the link and it asks what you want to do with the link - one option being download. If you're on a PC then I'm pretty sure there is an equivalent - can one of our wonderous PC users jump in and explain their way of doing it for Mr Chigg please?

Cheers, davey.
