German gigs cancelled - november 2011

Hey all,

sorry to have to spread this particular message (repeated from facebook):

"Statement:
We're very sorry to have to announce that Seasick Steve is forced to cancel his forthcoming shows in Germany.

He is experiencing extreme discomfort with his throat and he has been advised that he must immediately rest his throat (this week and next) as he has sustained damage to his vocal chords.

Steve wants to pass on his regrets and apologies for the cancellation - he hasn't previously cancelled a show in his whole life due to illness - and he was really looking forward to coming back to Germany."

I know Steve will be disappointed to have had to cancel, I'll bet his doctor must have taken his passport and the 3 string trace wonder away from him to make him rest!

Hopefully he'll be able to get over to Germany soon.

Now that's really a pity. I was really really looking forward to these shows. I hope Steve will be better soon and that he can come to Germany any time soon...

Gah! I bought tickets for the Frankfurt show, and I was so excited! (I'd taken the wife and kid to milano last weekend for vacation, seeing Steve was for me!) and I didn't see the email that all the shows were cancelled, so I kinda found out when I got there.

I'm now in a funk, and must settle for his albums and videos until I get another chance to see him live. I hope he gets well and does what the doctor ordered! If he can't come to Germany, I'll have to go to him!

sorry you missed out on the gigs - its a real pity. Its good of you to send Steve your good wishes - we're all hoping he's better soon.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that the German gigs are rescheduled for you soon - it'll be worth the wait!

I've seen no information to date. If I hear anything I'll post it in the diary dates section of this forum. Also worth keeping an eye on the gigs page on the official website.

I hope the gigs are rescheduled for you soon.
